Actually, all of these are correct, depending on operating conditions. Oil life if affected by many factors other than just miles driven. The type of driving, temperature, and engine load all play a part.
That’s why GM has developed the GM Oil Life System, an electronic watchdog that keeps track of all these variables and notifies the driver when it’s time to change oil. Briefly, the Oil Life System is programmed with a certain number of engine revolutions. As the engine runs, this number is reduced until it reaches zero, and the Oil Life light or message comes on. But there’s more. Operating the engine under low or high temperatures, and under high load conditions subtracts (penalizes) extra revolutions, so the light comes on sooner.
Changing engine oil according to actual need rather than an inflexible schedule provides several benefits to the customer, ask your Service Consultant to explain the “Simplified Maintenance Schedules” and protect your investment.

We are proud to Salute the medal winning efforts of the US Olympic Team and the American Made Chevy Traverse for taking Top Honors from the Annual Consumer Reports Automotive Review.
Friendly Chevrolet of Puyallup is happy to announce that we have just received a new shipment of very special 2010 Chevrolet Traverse. The Traverse has received much praise from industry insiders and was recently named to Consumer Reports 10 Best List. The versatile Crossover took home the title for "Best Family SUV."
The recent accolades are not necessarily what makes this particular shipment of Traverse special. Friendly Chevrolet has acquired four 2010 Traverse models that served duty as transportation for the US Olympic Team at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. These vehicles proved suitable for the very best America has to offer, and now one can be yours! Because each Traverse has very light wear, most under 1000 Miles, they have received GM Certification and an additional 12 Month - 12,000 Mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. This additional warranty is on top of the original factory warranty of 3 years 36,000 Mile bumper-to-bumper and 5 year 100,000 powertrain warranty.
This scenario creates a better than new 4 year bumper-to-bumper warranty!

While flipping through channels this weekend, I couldn't help but notice how many ads are presented by auto manufacturers. It would seem every commercial break had one celebrating this new model or some fancy award. This got me thinking, does anyone remember these these commercials years later? Do these messages really stick with anyone? My pondering led me to go search out some of the most memorable Chevrolet commercials that stuck with me. I'd like to take a minute to share them with you.
"Like a Rock" Chevy Trucks 1990's
This spot focuses on the toughness, durability, and reliability of Chevy Trucks. The theme song, Bob Segers' "Like a Rock" has become the motto for what today's Chevy Truck stands for.
"Chevy Lyrics" Superbowl 2007
Speaking of great songs, many great musicians have featured Chevrolet in their music throughout the years. The Chevy Superbowl ad from 2007 showcased people singing many of these great lyrics to their beloved Chevrolet's.
"Swapping Rides" 2006
Chevy can also lay claim that people of all walks of life love our Brand. A recent Impala ad featured Rapper T.I. car swapping for the day with NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.
"Man I Feel Like a Woman"
Throughout the years, the Chevy Brand has also highlighted the humorous side of life. My favorite instance is this spot showcasing the interior space of the Chevy Colorado.
"Original Camaro Commercial"
Recently, there has been much hype over the 2010 Chevy Camaro release, and deservedly so. However, I enjoyed taking a look back at this spot from the early 1960's highlighting the original release of Chevy's Ponycar.
I hope you enjoyed this look back at great Chevy commercials, and like me, eagerly await the next great spot that will define this brand.

The Silverado is legendary, the Camaro is timeless, the Malibu is stylish, and new Equinox and Traverse are innovative and ground breaking. However, there is one vehicle that holds a special place here at Friendly. General Motors is recalling the 2005 - 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt due to problems with the power steering system.
GM will be notifying customers, presumably by mail, when the plans for this recall are finalized.
There is no need to contact the dealership at this time.
The fault in the power steering system does not cause the steering to fail but can make steering more difficult. According to a statement by GM "the affected vehicles can be still be safely controlled but it may require greater steering effort under 15 mph. Drivers will see a warning light and hear a chime if the power steering fails." The issue has been noted to occur over time on older models, often out of the warranty stage.
